NCS | NIJHOF
CONSULTING & SOLUTIONS
OUR MISSION :
Transform real-world Seafaring experience into intelligent, pragmatic AI systems that strengthen Maritime Safety, Compliance and Trust.
1. THE COMPANY
NCS | Nijhof Consulting and Solutions Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based maritime consulting and AI solutions firm named after its founder, Paul Nijhof. NCS exists to “put people first” in maritime operations, integrating leadership, technology and real-world seamanship to make ships safer, organisations more compliant and crews more capable.
2. THE FOUNDER'S JOURNEY
Paul Nijhof’s leadership philosophy was forged in demanding, real-world environments. He began his career at sea on commercial trawlers in Australia, where heavy weather, stubborn gear and long watches taught him that clear communication, mutual respect and disciplined execution are what keep crews safe. He went on to serve more than a decade as a criminal defence lawyer representing disadvantaged clients, a role that honed the habits essential to maritime leadership; clarity under pressure, sound judgment and honest, respectful conversations. In 2016, he joined the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and gained first-hand exposure to naval discipline, crew safety and mission-focused operations. This unique blend of seamanship, legal rigour and Navy-grade standards is the foundation on which NCS is built.

3. CAPTAINCY PRINCIPLES
NCS operates on a simple conviction: Trust, honesty and respect are the cornerstones of sustainable success. The company leads with integrity and accountability, creating environments where people feel valued, empowered and inspired to excel. Beyond delivering results, NCS is committed to create a unified purpose, mentor emerging leaders and build long-term partnerships grounded in shared values.

4. SERVING SHIP, SHORE AND SURVEY
NCS serves the full maritime ecosystem - not just shipowners. Our offline, auditable, vessel-aligned AI solutions support shipowners, managers, charterers and their legal teams who must evidence good governance. Captains, chief engineers and mixed crews who need vessel-specific guidance fast. Technical managers, superintendents and purchasers who want a standardised onboard unit with a clear update path. Ship agents, brokers, traders and cargo players who need assurance that contracted procedures were followed and Insurers, P&I clubs, class, surveyors and port/coastal authorities who increasingly require proof of access, training and compliance.
5. SHIPBOARD SOLUTIONS
NCS delivers the following Products & Services, in a snapshot:
-
WKA3PLUS(+) 1 - A Maritime Risk Management & Governance Program where NCS implements a workaround through identification of problem sets, remediation using NCIL(M) and reinforcement with training. This is a full package with the Collaboration Blueprint Program as a recommended addition.

7. THE NCS FORWARD STRATEGY
NCS is positioning itself from Singapore, a hub for global trade, maritime services and advanced digital infrastructure to serve and scale across Australia, the Pacific Islands and ASEAN through a network of specialist partners. Drawing on former class-society surveyors and chief engineers with a combined 200+ years at sea, NCS is actively developing PROJECTS that advance its long-term direction:

-
Lead in Maritime Risk Management, Regulation and Governance
-
Drive Predictive Maintenance using AI and edge-ready systems
-
Elevate Behavioural and Fatigue Management to make crews safer and more resilient
At the core of this roadmap is a consistent principle: Technology should serve seafarers, not replace them and make ships, people and processes safer.
